St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church

ADVENT 2014
The first Sunday in Advent is November 30 when we begin our preparations in earnest for the coming of our Lord.  Our Advent series is "The Celebration of the Light of Christ" which highlights the meaning of the Advent wreath.  That theme will be developed every week in our regular schedule of services on Thursday @ 7:00 PM; Saturday at Key To Life @ 5:00 PM, and Sunday @ 7:45 and 10:30 AM.   Use these worship opportunities each week to help you prepare for the Christmas season and for the 2nd arrival of Christ our King!

Worship this Week:

We continue preparing our hearts to celebrate Christmas as we gather for worship this Sec-ond Sunday in Advent. Our worship is focusing on the Advent wreath following the theme, “Celebrate the Light of the Coming Christ.” This week we will consider the Bethlehem Can-dle.

Sunday’s Spiritual Growth Highlights:

  • Adult Class: Pastor Davidson leads the study titled “Heaven & Hell” in the large room in the basement. This Sunday we continue answering the question: “Can I Be Sure of Eternal Life?” … Pastor Mahnke begins the Bible Information Class, “Life’s Big Questions” with lesson #1, “Where did everything come from?”. This will be held in the smaller room near the basement kitchen.
  • Sunday JAM & Junior Teen: Our children and teens are preparing for the children’s Christmas service scheduled for the late service on December 21!

Christmas For Kids — The Family Ministry Board is hosting our annual “Christmas for Kids” event on Saturday, December 13, from 9:30 am—12 noon, for children ages 3 (must be potty trained) through 5th grade. The children will learn the Christmas story, sing Christmas songs, decorate Christmas cookies, do crafts and more! At 11:30 am they will be served lunch, too! So please bring your children and invite others from your neighborhood, too! There are flyers in the Information Center that you can share with others.
